The Society of Descendants of Militia Officers

serving from 1607 to 1861

The Society has three elected officers.  Our officers are identified by the titles of officers of a historical Militia company from the mid 1600s to the early 1800s and of the Military Companies of Massachusetts in the 1640s.  The Captain serves as the chief executive officer of the Society, the Lieutenant serves as our membership officer and registrar, and the Ensign serves as our administrative officer.  Officers serve in a Class identifying the year in which they serve, much as classes identified when an individual Militia officer or private would be called to active service.

Class of 2016

  • Captain Walter G. Green III, Ph.D.
  • Lieutenant Cynthia Russo
  • Ensign Janet K. Taylor-Carusi

Class of 2015

  • Acting President Walter G. Green III, Ph.D.
